CERTIFIED WELDER

Job Summary:

The Certified Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welds on structural steel components while ensuring compliance with industry standards, blueprints, and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural welding, a strong understanding of welding procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and/or GTAW processes as required.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings to ensure precise welds.

  • Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper settings and techniques for each job.

  • Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to AISC and AWS standards.

  • Perform grinding, cutting, and other necessary tasks to complete fabrication projects.

  • Work with fabrication teams to ensure proper fit-up and alignment of steel components.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Conduct weld repairs as needed to meet quality requirements.

  • Assist in maintaining welding equipment and performing routine maintenance checks.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current AWS (American Welding Society) Certification or be able to pass a company welding test.

  • 2+ years of experience in structural steel welding preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of welding procedures, techniques, and industry safety standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools, grinders, and cutting torches.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and overhead welding.

  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
